ANTI-BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION POLICY
Time Africa is committed to conducting its business in an ethically and with utmost honesty, whiles dealing with its Clients. It is with this note that an Anti-Corruption Policy has been set out, as corruption is a major obstacle to businesses.
This Anti-Corruption Policy will prevent bribery and corruption occurring in businesses, and we are committed to implementing and enforcing systems that ensure they are prevented, to protect the company from facing embarrassment and any issues with the law.
We have zero-tolerance for bribery and corruption. Our policy demonstrates our commitment to act professionally, morally, and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships wherever we operate in the country whiles constantly upholding all laws relating to anti-bribery and corruption in all jurisdictions. We are bound by the laws of Ghana, including bribery and corruption.
We recognize that bribery and corruption are punishable by law and could lead to imprisonment. Violating anti-corruption laws potentially expose the company and may be subjected to a fine, be excluded from tendering for public contracts or face severe damage to our reputation. We will do all in our power to explain the prohibitions against bribery and corruption in all of our business operations with the highest level of honesty and integrity and take our legal responsibilities seriously.
Bribery in this contest refers to the act of offering, giving, promising, asking, agreeing, receiving, accepting, or soliciting something of value or advantage so to induce or influence an action or decision while a bribe refers to any inducement, gift, or object/item of value offered to another individual to gain commercial, contractual, regulatory, or personal advantage.
It is important to note that an individual who receives a bribe is also breaking the law. Bribery is illegal, therefore employees must not engage in any form of bribery, be it directly, passively (as described above), or through a third party such as an agent or distributor.
They must not accept bribes in any form, and if they are uncertain about whether something is a bribe or a gift or an act of hospitality, they must seek further advice from their respective Supervisors. Management must ensure that all staff members have familiarized themselves with the content of this policy.
